June 29th teacher note
Great opportunity to connect last week's lesson with this week's lesson.
Last week: The king of a great kingdom was humbled, learned to worship God and shared that with others.
This week: A later king totally forgot this truth and suffered the consequences.

How do I prepare my heart to teach?
Before teaching God's Word, the teacher needs to be prepared to teach.
This preparation begins with the teacher's heart not the material.
A. Ask the Holy Spirit for His help.
B. Study God’s Word to accurately understand it.
C. Identify God’s attributes and actions.

Explaining Prophecy to Young Kids
A couple of quick tips for explaining prophecy to young kids:
- Emphasize that God is control of everything.
- Remember, as it relates to God, prophecy is SOOOO MUCH MORE than knowing what is going to happen.
- The end goal of prophecy is not knowing what is going to happen in the future. The goal is that God's power, strength, wisdom and glory are made known to the world.
In reading through Daniel 2 again I was struck by the difference between the way the Chaldeans approached the king in Daniel 2:5. "O king, live forever."
and Daniel approached the king in Daniel 2:28. "There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days."
Daniel had a right perspective which was revealed when God revealed the interpretation of the dream to him.
Daniel 2:10, this week's memory verse: "Blessed by the name of God forever and ever,..."
