Ministry Opportunities

Saturday Night service.  These services provide several great, unique opportunities.

  1. They provide a great opportunity for those teaching during the Sunday, 10:30 am service to be actively involved in the worship service.
  2. They provide an environment for you to meet with a smaller group of people for the service.  There seem to be new people coming each week.
  3. They provide an opportunity to serve with children 4 years old and under.  We have not had many families with children show up but we want to be able to provide childcare for younger children if needed.
Sunday morning teaching
Because of the fluctuating numbers and the growing number of new, young families coming, it is our prayer that there will always be a need for more disciple makers.  Think about how you can help during the 9:00 am or 10:30 am service times.
Sunday morning security
We want and need to provide a secure environment for our children and teachers.  To do this we need individuals to serve as security at the entrance to the children's ministry wing.  Depending on the number of people willing to do this, it could once every month or two.  The main responsible is monitoring the Gathering Area entrance to make sure no one unauthorized people wander into the children's wing during the service.
Single and Parenting
We just finished this 13 week class and are planning to offer it again soon.  This is a great class combining real life single parent testimonies with solid Biblical counseling principles from people like Steve Viars, Paul Tripp, David Powlison and Elyse Fitzpatrick.  Keep your eyes open for more information on when this is being offered.  It provides a great opportunity to invite single parents to our church.
UPWARD
This is our 2nd year of hosting UPWARD.  We have 160 children registered to play this year.  That is 20 more than we had last year.  The parents of 45 of these children left the church affiliation line empty on their registration form.  This exciting ministry provides a great opportunity to provide a service to our community while having the opportunity to share the Good News of the salvation we have in Jesus Christ.

EXCITING, ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

ALL APPROVED workers should have received an email  about some  IMPORTANT meetings.  If you did not receive the email and are serving or are interested in serving, plan to come out to ONE of these meetings.

Here is part of that email.  The red, italicized text is information NOT included in the email:
This meeting is for ALL approved children, not only those who are serving this quarter but those who serve any time. This meeting is for ALL approved workers, not only those who are serving on Sunday morning but those who serve in Mom's Matter and other ministries.
Please plan to attend ONE of the meetings.
  • Sunday, December 28th at 9:00 am.  If you need child care for this meeting, please let Andrea know (afansler@emmanuelbaptist.com or 419-320-8588).  Just a reminder that there ARE NOT 9:00 am classes this morning.
  • Sunday, January 4th at 9:00 am.  Just a reminder that there ARE 9:00 am classes
  • Tuesday, January 6th at 7:00 pm.  There is NO childcare during this meeting.
Here is what this meeting is about.
  • Some of the EXCITING THINGS that are happening and are going to be happening in our EKIDZ children's ministry.  We will have a video or two from kids that will encourage teachers.  It is my prayer that a reminder of our mission and vision will encourage you to continue on in your disciple making ministry with the families and children at EBC.
  • Some very ESSENTIAL THINGS regarding children's safety and security in our EKIDZ ministry.  I recently read a very challenging book entitled On Guard:  Preventing and Responding to Child Abuse at Church.  After reading this book, I really wanted to take an opportunity to share with each of you somethings we are doing and need to be doing to promote safety in our children's ministry.

You can read more about these EXCITING and ESSENTIAL THINGS at ekidzresources.blogspot.com

Thanks and have a very Merry Christmas!!!

12/21 & 12/28: Two weeks for Christmas but Only ONE lesson

On the teachers note I suggest breaking the one lesson you have into two parts
BUT
here is another idea.

The Bible memory verses are the ones on the schedule.

For July 21, review the advent days from the ekidzministry.blogspot.com
HERE is the whole advent schedule in a pdf

Choose several of the devotionals to share in class.
Only use the items 1 through 21.
Encourage kids and families to read the the remaing days Monday through Thursday.
It encourages family to take time to read together.

You can download a pdf of all the days and choose several to share with the kids.
You can use a Little People nativity set to share the days.

For July 28, use the lesson in the binder.

12/14/14: Jesus feeds the multitude

Here is a preview video for this Sunday's lesson on Jesus feeding the multitude.

Jesus should not be our last resource.

This is a great opportunity to talk about how God provides.
Think about last week's sermon and how God provided for David.
And remember how God provides for us.  The salvation God brings is based on the person and the work of Jesus Christ.

Remember to make the Christmas connection with the Memory Verse:
Christmas is the time we celebrate that God sent His One and Only Son for us.
