New Fall Quarter! New Resources!

The lessons are the same BUT the format has changed, from the binders to books.

HERE is the schedule for the 2015 Fall Quarter.
The 2nd page is the memory verse schedule.  This schedule also has a lesson connection statement for the verses.

Some logistical points to remember.

  • There are two teacher books for each age level.  One is for the 9:00 am class and the other is for the 10:30 am class.
  • There is only one coloring book and activity book for each age group.  Be sure to share these books between the classes.  The activities are listed in the teacher book.  You can find out more about the new format at ekidzresources.blogspot.com
  • There is one family devotional book in the classroom as a resource.
  • The memory verses are part of a church wide Bible memory program (blog.emmanuelbaptist.com/nextstep) developed from Set 5 of www.fighterverses.com.

There are no set plans for the REVIEW lessons but there will be ideas at  ekidzresources.blogspot.com

Additional Bible Review Resource: 31 Pictures Review

Was just reminded of this review activity.

There are 31 pictures from Genesis to Revelation HERE

You can use these to talk about specific stories from the Bible!

There were some paper copies in each of the classrooms a couple of months ago.
You could organize these stories.

Remember, in the future, to share review ideas or other teaching ideas/resources by posting them in comment section OR emailing children@emmanuelbaptist.com.

Review Sunday (08.30)

Here are some ideas for reviewing the Bible

JESUS STORYBOOK BIBLE

A book should be in every room.  The introduction is a great reminder.

There are a couple of DVDs of this Jesus Storybook Bible in the resource room.

FAVORITE BIBLE STORIES
Share your favorite Bible story and then have the kids share their favorite stories.
Remind the kids of how God is working in each story.

Teach Like a Pirate

16 minute video.
The sound is bad at some points but the BIG IDEA is great!
I actually used the calculator trick at Camp Patmos to bring everything back to God.

P - Passion
Content Passion:  Within your subject matter, what are you passionate about teaching?
Of all the stories and truths you teach which are the ones you most enjoy?

Ministry Passion:  Within ministry, but not specific to your subject matter, what are you passionate about?
What is it about teaching that drives you?

Personal Passion:  What are you passionate about?
Almost every personal passion can be incorporated into the classroom.

I - Immersion

R - Rapport
I model the behavior I want from my student.

A - Ask and Analyze
Creativity is not the possession of some special class of artistic individuals, but is rather something that can be nurtured and developed in all of us - including your students.

T - Transformation
"Don't position your material as if it is awful tasting medicine.  Position your content as if its amazing."

Think about how you would explain your class.

E - Enthusiasm
ACT enthusiastic!
"Even if you are acting at first an amazing thing happens along the way.  You actually start to really feel and become enthusiastic."
