Memory Verse Correction Romans 2 to Romans 5

On the Fall Quarter schedule, the memory verses are listed as Romans 2:6, 8a, 10 for the 2 year olds through kindergarten and Romans 2:6 - 10 for the 1st through 5th graders

It should be Romans 5:6, 8a, 10 and Romans 5:6 - 10

Now don't misunderstand me Romans 2:6 - 10 is a great passage of scripture.
He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.
But Romans 5:6 - 10
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life
Look at the Gospel truth found in these three verses for the young ones.
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly
8a but God shows his love for us
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son

During the conference this week, Greg Gilbert spokes about what the Gospel is.
In Session #1, he said we need to think about 4 words when sharing the Gospel.
God
Man
Jesus

Response

These verses are packed full of statements about God, Man and Jesus.
We need to challenge the children and families to understand and realize this truth in their own lives.

Quarter 5: Week 12: God uses Samson to deliver Israel

Judges 13 - 16

REMEMBER THE BIGGEST POINT OF THIS STORY IS...

Samson is not the hero.
GOD IS THE HERO!  He is the one who saves the people.

Check out this children's curriculum resource from the Gospel Project.

What we want parents to do with their children:
Ask your child these questions:
- What was good and bad in Samson’s life?
- How did God accomplish His will in Samson’s life?

Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:
- By looking for ways that God has designed him to serve Him.
- By repenting of the sin that he pursues instead of obeying God.

Quarter 5: Week 11: God uses Gideon to deliver Israel

Judges 6 - 8

REMEMBER THE BIGGEST POINT OF THIS STORY IS...
God saves His people.

Gideon is not the hero.
The army of 300 is not the hero.
GOD IS THE HERO!  He is the one who saves the people.

I want to encourage to use your opportunities to teach as opportunities to learn and grow.

Fun activity:  Share riddles with one another or the calss.

What we would love parents to talk about and do with their children:
Ask your child these questions:
- Why were the Israelites suffering under the Midianites?
- What happened during the Midianite defeat?

Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:
- By admitting that he is unworthy of God’s grace and deliverance.
- By being ready to be used as an instrument for God’s glory.

Quarter 5: Week 10: Israel disobeys God

Judges 1 - 3
