Volunteers vs. Disciple makers.

No, this is not the next competition.
It is a challenge to think about your role as a church member.

A volunteer is a person who does work without getting paid to do it.
A disciple maker is a person who is growing in their relationship with God and desiring to help others grow.

A disciple maker in the nursery understands
they are helping moms and dads grow through classes and the sermons
they are helping babies develop a love for the church by providing a consistent, caring environment.

A disciple maker in the pre-kindergarten classes understands
they are doing so much more than wiping noses and passing out snacks
they are showing the love of Jesus through their caring actions and creative sharing of Bible stories

A disciple maker in the 1st through 5th grade classes understands
they are showing the kids genuine worship as we sit in the auditorium and sing praises to our amazing Savior
they are showing the love of Jesus by taking time to talk to and listen to the kids.

;A disciple maker in Soul Care understands
they are showing sincere love by being used by God to love people more.
they are showing God dependent trust by bringing their concerns and the groups concerns to God in prayer.

Working in EBC's children's ministry is so much more than volunteering time.  It is investing in the spiritual growth of kids and families.

Bottom line, EKIDZ is about growing as a disciple and making disciples of families.

The Rathbuns  are also deeply involved in Bay Life Bible Church- pray for the growth of this church
Pray for Ken as he is finishing a writing project and preparing to minister this summer in Peru at a Bible College there
Pray for Clea as she is new to motherhood and also teaching some classes

Pray for Steve as he travels often ministering to pastors
Rowena would appreciate prayer as she teaches the ladies and the children
